Job Description

Job Opportunity:

We are looking for a licensed Heavy Duty Bus Mechanic to join our growing team!  With the launch of our new Hop On, Hop Off double-decker tours, we require mechanics available to work a flexible full-time schedule at our Richmond base.  Reporting to the Fleet Manager, you will help perform all maintenance and repairs on tour buses and company vehicles.  You will also be required to completely document details on work orders and complete tasks in a timely manner.

A day in the life of a Landsea Mechanic:

  • Performs routine, scheduled maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles including VanHool double-decker coaches, Ford, International, Mercedes and GMC tour vehicles
  • Executes regular maintenance and repairs of brake systems, suspensions, engines, hydraulics, electrical, air conditioning, fuel systems, transmissions and driveline components
  • Maintains a clean and organized work space
  • Provides road-side assistance if/as required
  • Meets deadlines to keep the fleet in operation
  • Is willing to perform shop and building maintenance from time to time
  • Is willing to travel around the Lower Mainland if required
  • Is part of a fun, social and team-oriented work environment


Skills and Qualifications

What you bring:

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

  • BCTQ and/or Red Seal certification along with CVIP authorized inspector certification with airbrake designation
  • A sound understanding and working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and air brake systems is required
  • Minimum 4 years of heavy duty mechanical experience
  • Must be capable, after on the job training, of holding a class 2 license with airbrake endorsement
  • Your own basic set of mechanics tools
  • Must be able to work evening shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Commercial vehicle inspection an asset
  • Keen eye for detail
  • WHMIS certification
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proven leadership experience training apprentice workers
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Fluent in English, written and oral
  • Possess organizational and time management skills
  • Must be physically fit and able to work on vehicles with heavy duty tools
  • Work independently or in a team environment without maximum supervision
