Trucking HR Canada’s popular Drive to Excellence annual report will again offer practical examples and tips that all employers in the industry can learn from. Top Fleet Employers selection criteria, which has been validated by trucking industry experts, is reviewed annually to ensure an accurate reflection of human resources issues, trends, and today’s working environments. A team of human resources professionals oversees the assessment process.
For this year’s awards, Trucking HR Canada worked with Trailer Wizards, an associate member of BCTA, using the private fleet criteria established for the program. For all but two questions the criteria was applicable, and Trailer Wizards’ scoring in all other areas put them well over the threshold to be recognized in the program. For next year’s program, Trucking HR Canada will look more carefully at this emerging category for fleets that don’t exactly fit as “for-hire” or “private.” Trucking HR Canada will provide an update for all those interested in applying.
Applications for 2017 will open November 1, 2016.
BCTA will let members know when this year’s Drive to Excellence report is available. In the meantime, see the following Bulletin articles about best practices from last year’s winners:
BCTA is hosting a complimentary Future of Zero Emission Commercial Vehicles online seminar, where BCTA will provide an overview of our sector’s GHG emission trends and original equipment manufacturers will discuss what zero emission vehicles (ZEVs) they have, or will soon have, available for order.
On May 5, 2021 from 10:30AM to 11:30AM (PDT), the Ministry of Finance will provide a presentation on responsibilities and obligations for reporting, collecting and paying motor fuel tax and/or carbon tax in BC.
